Kota coaching centres bask in AIIMS glory

: Coaching institutes from Kota have once again proved their mettle by clinching top ranks in AIIMS 2018 results declared on Monday.

Allen Career Institute of Kota claimed that nine students of the institute have secured top 10 AIRs in the AIIMS 2018 results declared on Monday.

Director of Allen Career Institute Brajesh Maheshwari said that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is considered to be the most prestigiou­s educationa­l institutio­n in the country for medical studies and nine students from Allen are in the top 10. “Six students are from Allen classroom coaching,” said Maheshwari.

Ramneek Kaur Mahal got AIR-2, Mehak Arora AIR-3, Manraj Sra AIR-4 and Amitabh Chauhan got AIR-5. While Abdur Rehma has secure AIR-6, Sangeet Rathi AIR-7, Amulya Gupta AIR-8, Somal Agarwal AIR-9 and Eishvauk Aggarwal secured AIR-10. Amongst them, Ramneek Kaur Mahal, Manraj Sra and Eishvauk Aggarwal are from the distance programme and the other six students are from classroom coaching. Amitabh Chauhan AIR-5 has bagged AIR-1 in SC Category and Prince Chaudhary AIR-18, classroom coaching student has secured AIR-1 in OBC Category.

“According to the results compiled till now, 34 students from Allen are in top 50, which include 24 students from classroom programme and 10 from distance. AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam was conducted on May 26 and 27,” Maheshwari said.

Another coaching institute, Career Point, has also claimed that nine of its students are in the top 100. “AIR 7 Amulya Gupta is the distance learning programme, while their classroom student Sahil Poswal has bagged AIR 3 in the Scheduled Caste category,” said director of Career Point Institute, Kota, Shailendra Maheshwari.

Similarly, Resonance has claimed that a large number of selections in AIIMS. “Two of our students have grabbed ranks in the top 100, including AIR 64 which went to classroom student Vineeth Megur and AIR 83, which went to distance learning programme student Debabrata Deb Sharma,” said managing director, Resonance Coaching Institute, Kota, RK Verma.

A total of 14 students of their institute have grabbed ranks in the top 1000.

The exam was conducted for 807 seats in nine AIIMS across the country. There are seven seats in the NRI quota. Through this examinatio­n, students will get admission in AIIMS MBBS in New Delhi, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswa­r, Patna, Guntur, Nagpur and Raipur.

Vidushi Varshney and Girish Payal topped Jaipur in the AIIMS MBBS entrance examinatio­n 2018. “Vidushi has always been studious and mathematic­s is her favourite subject,” said Dr Purnima Varshney, Vidushi’s mother.

Vidushi, who got AllIndia Rank (AIR) 43, has won 55 medals, including 10 medals at internatio­nal level, in various competitio­ns. Her parents, Dr Vipin and Dr Purnima Varshney, are both doctors.

“Vidushi was left free to do whatever she wanted and with her achievemen­ts and marks, she can get admission in any top college in India and abroad. She can also become an engineer and get admission in IIT, or do MBBS. But after the AIIMS results she has decided to become a doctor,” Purnima said. HTC
