Thousands throng event in Jaipur BSF men perform yoga along IndiaPak border
Thousands of people performed yoga at a district-level programme held at Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Thursday.
Jaipur district in-charge and home minister Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.
He also administered an oath to the participants and called upon them to keep the body and mind healthy through yoga and spread peace and happiness in the entire world through their work.
People performed yoga under the supervision of experts, who also told them about the importance of asanas and their benefits.
Many organisations including Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Yogasthali, Yoga and Naturopathy Sangh, Swasthya Kalyan, Gayatri Shakti Peeth, Brahmakumaris, Sankalp and Yoga Sandhna Ashram extended their cooperation.
Social justice and empowerment minister Arun Chaturvedi, Members of Parliament Ramcharan Bohra and Madan Saini, parliamentary secretary Kailash Verma, MLAs Ashok Parnami and Mohan Lal Gupta, additional chief secretary information and public relations JC Mohanti and commissioner information and public relations Dr Rajesh Sharma were among the dignitaries who took part in the programme. Jaiput district collector Siddhartha Mahajan expressed gratitude to everyone for gracing the occasion.
BSF personnel performed their asanas at IndiaPakistan border in Munabao on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Along with the BSF personnel, staff of other agencies deployed at the international border, villagers and children also showcased their yoga skills.
BSF officials said they were celebrating the yoga day every year at sector headquarters and some battalion headquarters in Barmer.
Due to which personnel deployed at international border could not be part of the celebration. “Considering it, this year we planned to celebrate the (yoga) day at Munabao,” said a BSF official.
Meanwhile, soldiers and their families in Jaipur Military Station joined the countrywide celebration.
