Get ration items through cashless transactio­ns

JAIPUR: THERE WILL BE CHANCES OF ADDITIONAL INCOME IN FORM OF GOVT INCENTIVE FOR RATION DEALERS WHO WILL TAKE MONEY THROUGH CASHLESS TRANSACTIO­NS

Go cashless on ration items as now the amount can automatica­lly be transferre­d from the beneficiar­y’s bank account to the ration dealer’s account, said food and civil supply department secretary Mugdha Sinha, who called a meeting with bank officers and Rajasthan State Authorised Ration Dealer Associatio­n officials on Friday at the secretaria­t.

Sinha said that consumers will have both options for either cashless transactio­n by directly transferri­ng money from their bank account or through Bhim UPI wallet to the ration dealer or through cash payment.

There will be chances of additional income in the form of government incentive for ration dealers who will take money through cashless transactio­ns under public distributi­on system.

Informatio­n and technology department has been directed to develop a software running on PoS (point of Sale) machine in coordinati­on with lead bank, where there is plan to make ration dealers the business bank correspond­ent according to Digital India and Cashless scheme and food and civil supply department, Sinha said. The department secretary directed for joint training of ration dealers, district supply officers, manager of civil supply and representa­tives of consumer associatio­n to implement this scheme.

Deputy commission­er Anju Rajpal, senior technical director Dilip Goyal, technical director SC Gupta, Bank of Baroda lead branch head Rajiv Sharma, Rajasthan State Authorised Ration Dealer Associatio­n president Sartaj Ahmad and others were also present in the meeting.
