Get ration items through cashless transactions
JAIPUR: THERE WILL BE CHANCES OF ADDITIONAL INCOME IN FORM OF GOVT INCENTIVE FOR RATION DEALERS WHO WILL TAKE MONEY THROUGH CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS
Go cashless on ration items as now the amount can automatically be transferred from the beneficiary’s bank account to the ration dealer’s account, said food and civil supply department secretary Mugdha Sinha, who called a meeting with bank officers and Rajasthan State Authorised Ration Dealer Association officials on Friday at the secretariat.
Sinha said that consumers will have both options for either cashless transaction by directly transferring money from their bank account or through Bhim UPI wallet to the ration dealer or through cash payment.
There will be chances of additional income in the form of government incentive for ration dealers who will take money through cashless transactions under public distribution system.
Information and technology department has been directed to develop a software running on PoS (point of Sale) machine in coordination with lead bank, where there is plan to make ration dealers the business bank correspondent according to Digital India and Cashless scheme and food and civil supply department, Sinha said. The department secretary directed for joint training of ration dealers, district supply officers, manager of civil supply and representatives of consumer association to implement this scheme.
Deputy commissioner Anju Rajpal, senior technical director Dilip Goyal, technical director SC Gupta, Bank of Baroda lead branch head Rajiv Sharma, Rajasthan State Authorised Ration Dealer Association president Sartaj Ahmad and others were also present in the meeting.
