The incident took place in Hotel ITC Rajputana Sheraton Jaipur on Tuesday night. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikas Pathak, arrested accused Rishiraj Singh has been remanded in police custody by a court.

The NCW added: “The accused was booked for outraging the modesty of a woman and making sexually coloured remarks. The NCW under Section 10 (1)(f) of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has taken suo motu notice of the crime.”

According to the police, two Mexican women tourists visited Jaipur on Tuesday. They knew the accused and stayed in the hotel with his reference.

Later that night, the accused entered their room and forced himself upon one of the women. But as they raised an alarm, he left the room.

Pathak said there was adequate proof to substantiate the charges. “In the CCTV footage, he is seen entering and coming out of their room. Also, there are WhatsApp messages from the accused apologizing for his act.”
