The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police has arrested four persons on Sunday for impersonation in the police constable and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations, a senior official said.

Additional director general police (ADGP) ATS and SOG Umesh Mishra, on Monday, said, “We received intel that fake candidates from Delhi and Bihar will appear for the police constable exam and SSC exam, held on July 14 and 15. On the basis of the information, we started monitoring various examination centres and public places.

“A SOG team, led by deputy inspector general of police Sanjay Shrotri, undertook the surveillance. An informer on Sunday said that a few suspicious boys were waiting for the bus to go back to Delhi at the Narayan Singh Circle from where they were rounded up.”

ADGP Mishra said, “The four proxy candidates have been identified as Pramod Kumar Yadav (a resident of Supaul district, Bihar), Vinay Kumar (resident of Buxar district Bihar), Avnish Kumar (resident of East Champaran district, Bihar) and Chetram Meena (resident of Alwar district). During the initial inquiry, Pramod, Vinay and Avnish admitted that they had appeared for the SSC exams at various centres in Jaipur while Chetram Meena accompanied them.”

A large number of admit cards of SSC, civil defence and constable recruitment examinations were also recovered from their possession apart from photographs, driving licences and photo ID cards of candidates and OMR sheets.

Aadhar card and driving licence of various candidates were also recovered from their possession.

One of the accused Pramod Kumar Yadav took a flight from Patna to reach Delhi and then took a taxi till Jaipur. Likewise, Vinay and Avnish also came to Jaipur a day before from Delhi. The three were in touch with many candidates of Rajasthan and used to make their hall tickets by mixing and editing photos of the original candidate.

Vinay Kumar also revealed that he had gone to Sikar to give the constable recruitment examination in the second half on Sunday, but after seeing the police presence at the examination centre, he came back without giving the exam.

ADGP Mishra said that that SOG teams have been dispatched to search for the main accused running the inter-state gang of proxy candidates. The accused have admitted to appearing for various exams such as DDA, Metro, FCI and UP police recruitment exams.
