We don’t do development based on caste, religion: Raje
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday claimed that in-four-and-a-half years her government has approved development works worth Rs 8155 crore, which was more than four times the amount the previous Congress dispensation spent in five years. She claimed the Congress government had sanctions development works worth Rs 1800 crore only.
“Our government has not done development works based on caste, religion or party. We have done development works by taking along all the people,” Raje said. She further said that the objective of the BJP government’s public welfare schemes was to “benefit deprived, poor and needy sections of the society, irrespective of their political ideology.”
On a two-day visit to Dungarpur, she was interacting with beneficiaries of welfare schemes.
Raje asked people not to consider daughters as burden and instead shape their future by educating them. She said government has made efforts in this regard, as a result of which the sex ratio has improved to 970 per 1000. She also met Praiji Saraiya who won gold at an international tournament in Indonesia. Raje later gave away scooties to meritorious girls, motorized tricycle to disabled, and loan waiver certificates to farmers.
The CM also visited Gap Sagar lake and inspected the development and beautification works going on there. She directed municipal council chairman KK Gupta to pay special attention to cleanliness of the lake.
She also paid tributes to the statue of Maharana Pratap on Hospital Road. On this occasion, people of Rajput community associated with Vagad Kshatriya Mahasabha and Pratap Smarak Samiti welcomed Raje by garlanding her.
She also visited Shrinath temple near Gap Sagar lake. Raje said in coming times, she will take blessings from people throughout the state. “I have not left any stone unturned in fulfilling promises made to people in last four-and-a-half years,” she said.
