Bharat Vahini Party state president Ghanshyam Tiwari on Friday alleged that chief minister Vasundhara Raje and the BJP have stolen the name ‘Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra’, which his party had announced earlier.

He said that it’s immoral and called the chief minister “dishonest”. “It’s a conspiracy by BJP and it shows their mental insolvency,” said Tiwari.

It is to be mentioned that BJP was propagating Raje’s yatra as ‘Suraj Gaurav Yatra’ and when Tiwari called ‘Kuraj Gaurav Yatra’, the BJP rechristened the yatra as ‘Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra’ on Thursday. Bharat Vahini Party had proposed the name long ago. “If the chief minister has to follow us, then she should not follow the name of the yatra, but should also follow our qualities and values,” Tiwari said. He said that it has become the nature of people (in BJP) to shirk responsibility.

Raje will take out Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra from Rajsamand on August 4. Earlier, too, she had taken two yatras, Parivartan Yatra in 2003, and Suraj Sankalp Yatra in 2013 from the same place. This yatra will be a 40-day-long affair. “We have not stolen the name and a party like the BJP does not have to do this. The state committee of the proposed yatra has decided to change the name because, in these last four and a half years, Rajasthan has earned name and fame under the BJP rule. To tell people about the same, the yatra has been renamed as Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra,” BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said.
