Rahi Sarnobat became India’s first ever female shooting champion at the Asian Games on Wednesday, clinching gold in the 25 metre air pistol in Palembang. Sarnobat overcame a tense shoot-off with Thailand’s Naphaswan Yangpaiboon after both athletes had set a new Asian Games record of 34 points.

Meanwhile, the Indian men’s hockey team today recorded its biggest ever win in international hockey, annihilating Hong Kong China 26-0 in a Pool B match, bettering an 86-year-old mark.

The wrestlers ended their campaign without adding any medals but the wushu sanda team brought in four bronzes, three in men’s and one in women’s events.
