Bike theft gang busted in Bharatpur

BHARATPUR: THIEVES STEAL BIKES FROM RAJASTHAN, UTTAR PRADESH, DELHI AND HARYANA

Police busted an interstate gang of motorcycle thieves and arrested three main accused, recovering 26 motorcycle­s, illegal country-made weapons from their possession in Bharatpur on Wednesday.

The arrested have been identified as Mahesh Harijan (30), Ajay Harijan (22) and Rajendra Singh Harijan (24). Police have recovered 26 motorcycle­s from the houses of two absconding gang members, Ayub Khan and Kada Mev from Kavan Ka Vaas village under police station Khoh.

Manoj Kumar Jatav (25) from Ganga Mandir under police station Mathura Gate registered a complaint with Udhyog Nagar police on August 20 against unknown persons for stealing his motor cycle from Ekta Vihar colony.

Acting on a tip-off, police barricaded the area and nabbed the accused.

The leader of the gang, Mahesh Harijan, has 10 charges against him under sections 215, 401, 411, 412, 413, 323, 329, 379 and 554 of Arms Act in police station Sewar, Deeg.

Superinten­dent of police, Kesar Singh Sekhawat, said that in light of the rising bike theft incidents, all police stations have been asked to step up their day and night patrolling.

The bike thieves steal motorcycle­s from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana and sell each bike for ~4,000 to ~5,000. Police will conduct a raid in some places in Mewat region to put a check on the rising crimes.

Police recovered 118 motor cycles so far.
