SUV on footpath: I am worried about my future, says survivor

Questions about his family and future are hovering the mind of 35-year-old Nanuram Bairwa, who sustained serious injuries after a speeding SUV ran over him on Thursday night.

According to the medical report of Bairwa has suffered fracture in knee and the hip joint.

“From the moment I regained my consciousn­ess, every part of my body is under severe pain. I don’t know about my future? Whether I will be able to work or not? Who will look after my wife and two children? Who will bear the expenditur­e of my medicines in future?,” said a worried Bairwa.

“Media persons, police and doctors contacted me to inquire about the incident but nobody has offered me anything to eat or drink. I have not been able to contact my family as I don’t know where my mobile phone is and all my contacts are saved there,” added Bairwa.

The condition of another injured, Sitaram Yadav (42), is also critical. He has suffered fracture in jaws and severe injuries in the chin and head. Yadav

The body of the two deceased Sajid Khan and Jagmohan Jatav was handed over to the family members after the postmortem.

Wajid, brother of Sajid, had come to Jaipur to collect the body of his brother from Sawai Man Singh Hospital.

“Sajid was living in Jaipur for the last four years. Till the vegetable market of Lal Kothi was operationa­l, he used to work there as a helper. But after the market closed down, he started working as daily wage labourer in the Malviya Nagar area,” said Wajib.

Talking about his last meeting with Sajid, Wajib said, “Sajid met all of us during Eid. He had also brought some sweets for ‘ammi’ and ‘abba’ (mother and father). We were also looking for a suitable bride for him.”

Brothers of Jagmohan Jatav and his adopted mother Urmesh Devi came to collect his body. Jagmohan was unmarried and had no one in his family.
