Congress neglected progress in Rajasthan on fund excuse: Raje
POLL BOUND Attacking the rival party, she says those who say there is no money, they don’t have the willpower to work for people’s welfare
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje said on Saturday that the Congress had neglected the state’s development on the excuse of insufficient funds.
“Whenever the Congress was in power, they always cited insufficient budget for the lack of development; they used to run to Delhi for funds. Instead of development and people’s welfare, Congress leaders have given priority to their personal benefits,” Raje said while addressing a public meeting held in Barmer as part of the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra.
“If your intentions are good, there is no dearth of money. The government always has money for people and those who say there is no money, they don’t have the willpower to work for people’s welfare.”
Raje said the “blessings and affection that people had showered on her government” made her never feel that budget was insufficient. “If the government wants to do any work, it is not difficult to arrange the budget.”
Reacting to the CM’s statements, Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma said the BJP government has not done any work, so obviously they have no dearth of money. “No infrastructure development has taken place and the budget announcements have not been fulfilled. The refinery work too was stalled. They stopped works that were ongoing. They have not done work, only talk.”
Raje said Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have set new milestones of development because people there have shown faith in the BJP. Appealing to people to give her one more chance to form government, Raje told them to avoid caste politics and be united in the name of development.
Addressing public meetings at Guadamalani, Chohtan and Barmer under Gaurav Yatra, the CM inaugurated projects and laid the foundation for fresh ones. She said her government waived off farmers’ loans and announced government jobs to families of martyrs.
Mentioning capital punishment to rapists, Raje said the Congress has no right to corner the government over rape incidents. “Congress should be ashamed that at the time of Nirbhaya rape case, the then PM Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi had kept mum for seven days. My government is serious on such incidents and in some cases accused are being convicted within one month after the crime.”
Accusing the Congress of misleading people on the refinery issue, Raje said they had laid the

BLACK FLAGS SHOWN
Despite strict security arrangements, black flags were shown to
Raje in the Barmer city.
Those who were wearing black clothes were allowed to the meeting after they removed them. But some protestors were successful in taking black flags to the venue.
