‘Gehlot govt inaugurated, we completed ROBs’

-

Refuting former chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s allegations, Jodhpur Development Authority chairman Mahendra singh Rathore said the Raje government released funds for the completion of ROBs.

The BJP government is taking credit for the construction of two ROBs, but the Congress says the foundation stone for both was laid during its tenure?

Both the ROBs were completed under the present government. Though former CM Ashok Gehlot had laid the foundations, no budget was earmarked for one ROB, and only Rs 3 crore was approved for the second. The BJP government spent Rs 113 crore on the construction of the ROBs.

How has JDA changed the face of the city in the past four and a half years?

To promote religious tourism, JDA is working on a water conservation model and beautification of Ganesh temple in Ratanada. All formalities have been completed to start con- struction of a ropeway at Kaylana Lake; the work order will be issued soon. Plans to build a convention centre, an amusement park, and a sports academy on PPP mode are in the pipeline.

Is it true that the development of the city has stopped?

The former CM should not forget that his government had left liabilities of Rs 1200 crore to JDA. With an efficient financial management, we have now a balance of ~40 crore.
