GAURAV YATRA CM says Congress governments laid only foundation stones

Our government is also launching ERCP in which Kali Sindh, Parvan and Chambal rivers will be interlinked to provide irrigation and drinking water to 13 districts VASUNDHARA RAJE, CM

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje said on Sunday that assembly poll tickets would be given to BJP candidates on the basis of a survey.

During the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Hadauti region, BJP workers raised slogans in favour of BJP MLA and agriculture minister Prabhulal Saini at a public meeting held in Mangrol region of Baran district.

Reacting to the slogans, Raje told Saini, “I have not chosen you as the candidate from this (Anta) constituency, so sit down as I will conduct the survey first and then select the party candidate for Anta.” Saini is believed to be a confidante of Raje but has the reputation of changing constituencies in every assembly poll.

Raje said the BJP has not fooled people like the Congress by only laying down foundation stones; the BJP government has carried out development at the ground level.

“We have started Parwan project, which would ensure irrigation facilities to 3 lakh hectares and also provide drinking water in the Hadauti region,” she said. “Our government has carried out enough development works to prevent floods in Baran and Mangrol areas.”

She said former Congress MLA from Anta Pramod Jain Bhaya had not developed roads in the district though he was a PWD minister. “Our government never rued lack of funds for development works like the past Congress governments.”

Later addressing another public meeting in Itawa region of Kota district, Raje said her government was providing immedi- ate power connections at ₹500 and that all households in the state would get electricity by March 2019.

She said around 35 lakh people have got free LPG gas connections under Ujjwala scheme of Narendra Modi government and 44 lakh people have availed of business loans under Mudra scheme.

“Our government is also launching Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) in which Kali Sindh, Parvan and Chambal rivers will be interlinked to provide irrigation and drinking water to 13 districts of the state. In first phase, a barrage will be constructed at ₹760 crore at Nonera in Itawa region of Kota district.”

Raje said the state government reduced value added tax on petroleum products by 4% to provide relief to people from rising fuel prices. “Our government has provided jobs to over 15.50 lakh people in the state,” she said, adding 68000 schoolteachers have been appointed.

Raje said the state government earmarked ₹2600-crore budget to provide free treatment to people.

Jhalawar MP Dushyant and Kota MP Om Birla were present during the meetings.
