RSS chief to attend national meet of charitable body
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will be present at the national convention of Saksham, a charitable organisation that works for development and mainstreaming of persons with disability or divyang.
Saksham, which is headquartered at Nagpur (Maharashtra), has been working for the welfare of ‘divang’ for last 10 years and now has branches in 320 districts of the country.
Representatives of Saksham, as well as persons with disability, will be present at the two-day function to be held at Keshav Vidyapith in Jamdoli, Jaipur, on September 29-30, Dr SS Agarwal, secretary of the welcome committee formed for the programme, told reporters. Several union and state ministers will also be present.
The convention will kick-off on September 28 evening with the inauguration of an exhibition on the work done by Saksham.
The inaugural session will be held on September 29.
Union minister Kishan Pal Gurjar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh All India Executive member Suhas Rao Hiremath, Dr Dayal Singh Panwar, national president of Saksham and state minister Rajendra Rathore will address the convention, he said.
On September 30, a public programme will be held where RSS chief Bhagwat and Union minister Thawar Chand Gehlot will address the gathering, said Agarwal.
Dr Sukumar, national organisation secretary of Saksham, said that the event will see the presence of 1500 persons from across the country working for the welfare of divyang and 400 divyang.
