Police crack bank manager’s murder

-

JAIPUR: NIRMALA, THE WIFE OF THE MANAGER, ALONG WITH A MAN IDENTIFIED AS UMESH SHARMA, PLOTTED THE MURDER

With the arrest of five people, city police claimed to crack the murder of a bank manager in the Kardhani area of the city on September 19.

Nirmala, the wife of deceased manager Roshan Lal Yadav, along with a man identified as Umesh Sharma, who was her former neighbour, had plotted the murder, police said.

“During the investigation, we found that for last year, Nirmala had a strained relationship with her husband. Sharma was missing from the day of the incident, which triggered doubts. Information was received that he was hiding in Uttarakhand, following which a team was sent,” said Ashok Gupta, deputy commissioner of police(DCP), West.

Sharma, along with his brother-in-law Akash Rawat and friend Mahendra Pratap, were detained at a hotel in Almora.

“Sharma confessed to have hatched the plot to kill Yadav with the help of Nirmala, his brother, Rahul, and nephew Manish alias Sunny, both natives of Faridabad,” Gupta said.

Sharma was living in Yadav’s neighbourhood from 2010 to January 2017, during which period he and Nirmala became close, police said.

When Yadav came to know about the relationship, he had an altercation with Nirmala, following which Sharma left the neighbourhood, police alleged.

“Nirmala planned to kill her husband in April. Sharma gave ₹4 lakh to his brother, Rahul, to execute the plan. Rahul hired three sharp shooters from Faridabad, identified as Shivkant alias Lalu, Pappu Kashyap and Vishnu Kashyap. On September 19, they shot Yadav dead,” Gupta said.

One of the arrested, Shivkant alias Lalu, 27, was one of the shooters, police said, adding that some other people involved in the case were still on the run. HTC
