Women must save family from cultural crisis, says Bhagwat
CORE ISSUE RSS chief expresses concern over declining values in the society ...while the woman, along with these works, plays important role in keeping the family together and making her children eligible with her love MOHAN BHAGWAT , RSS chief JAIPUR:
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that women have to come forward to save family and society from the cultural crisis that is stepping in silently.
Expressing concern over declining family values and minds of children getting affected by internet and other external forces, Bhagwat said, “Women have to take the lead to save family and society.”
Addressing Matra Shakti Sangam at Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sansthan in Jaipur, he said women have the natural capability to do multi-tasking. “Man through earning runs the family and provides protection, while the woman along with these works, plays important role in keeping the family together and making her children eligible with her love.”
Bhagwat said women are no less than men. “Women are able to do the work that is not possible for men. 50% share of the country is of women and the progress of the country is not possible without their support and cooperation.”
Men and women, he said, are believed to be complementary to each other as per Indian tradition. “The universe moves together as man and woman move together based on their natural qualities.”
There is a need for a strict law for security of women, but law has its own limits, Bhagwat said. “The woman will be safe only with the awakening of the society and not by making strict law alone, and this we all have to do.”
He said men instead of considering women as devi or dasi (god- dess or slave) will have to change their thinking according to the present circumstances.
Bhagwat said the power of mother (matra shakti) is a compulsory condition for the progress of the nation, but there is a huge difference in the situation of women in different parts of the country according to tradition, culture, upbringing, and circumstances. He called for uplifting the power of mother playing important role in various sectors. In the Sangam, 284 women playing leading role in social life in various parts of the state were present.
