United society bulwark against crises: Bhagwat
ADDRESS ‘People with disabilities should be treated with empathy’ JAMDOLI(JAIPUR):
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat exhorted people on Sunday to work for the larger objective of building an integrated society, emphasising that a united society can overcome crises.
Addressing the national convention of Saksham, a charitable organisation that works for divyang (people with disabilities), Bhagwat said, “When people come together to do good work, then the health of the entire society improves and it also puts in place a mechanism that safeguards society from various crises. People overcome differences and understand each other; they appreciate each other’s uniqueness and work together.”
He said working together will help in achieving the larger objective of unifying society. “When we achieve that then we can say we are successful.”
Bhagwat, who ended his 10-day visit to Rajasthan with this programme, said the society must work with empathy for the disabled.
“Why is divyang an issue in society? If we haven’t been able to bring them at par with others in society, it is our failure. They are our own and should be accepted in society with a feeling of empathy.”
Bhagwat called upon people to come forward for this enabling work. “While Saksham is doing its work, others too must help in any way they can. The problem of divyang is not theirs or that of Saksham alone but of the entire society and everyone must contribute.”
He said that in 10 years Saksham had built itself to a position where it is taken seriously by the people, government and administration. “But this is just the first step. There is a long way to go where disability will no longer be seen as a problem,” he said. “Coming together is the beginning. Working together is progress and staying together is success.”
During his stay in Rajasthan, Bhagwat held meetings with RSS workers. He arrived in Jodhpur on September 21. On September 22-23, he held meetings with workers of Jodhpur region in

“I appeal to the agitators to read the Act. The Act is needed.”
Gehlot said there was a misapprehension about the Act similar to that over the film Padmaavat.
