Wherever Rahul campaigns, BJP wins: Javadekar
JAIPUR: In his closed door meetings with party workers, Javadekar tries to boost their morale and says they should not worry and that the BJP will win ARCHANA SHARMA , Congress spokesperson
Union human resource development minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday said Rahul Gandhi’s campaigning will benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Javadekar, who is BJP’s Rajasthan poll in-charge, was addressing a workshop of BJP Yuva Morcha’s Nav Matdata Abhinandan programme. Four hundred workers from all 200 assembly constituencies attended the workshop. The Assembly polls will be held in Rajasthan on December 7.
The minister said wherever Gandhi campaigns, the Congres loses and the BJP wins. He said the Congress is losing ground in the country but is dreaming of forming the government in Rajasthan. He said Rajasthan will buck the trend of changing governments and vote the BJP back to power.
Javadekar asked the Yuva Morcha members to spread awareness among people about the welfare and development schemes of the state and Central governments.
The Yuva Morcha will hold a felicitation programme for firsttime voters in all 200 constituencies from between October 10-16 to woo young voters. It will also take out a Kamal Sandesh Yatra covering all 52,000 booths.
Javadekar also held meetings with booth in-charges of each assembly constituency on Sunday. The Congress will hold Nav Shakti Sammelan in all constituencies between October 18-24 and a Kamal Sandesh rally between October 25-31.
Reacting to Javadekar’s statement,
Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma said it shows that the BJP is worried.
“In his closed door meetings with party workers, Javadekar tries to boost their morale and says that they should not worry and that the BJP will win. But in
public forums, he speaks against the Congress. This shows that the BJP is worried about losing the election.” She said Congress defeated the BJP in the by-polls and will do the same in the Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to hold mass awareness campaigns to reach out to one crore voters in a month. Among them is a Nari Shakti Sammelan organised by the BJP women’s cell on October 12, to mark the birth centenary year of chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s mother, Vijaya Raje Scindia. BJP women’s cell president Madhu Sharma said the members will celebrate the day as Vijay Sankalp.
Former BJP women’s cell president Suman Sharma said party members will light kamal diyas in 51 lakh houses. “Before the last elections, we had carried out a similar campaign,” said Sharma.
