Two arrested by Barmer police in RPSC paper leak
Two persons have been arrested in the case in which a question paper of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission examination for teachers’ recruitment had leaked in Barmer on Thursday.
Laxminarayan Soni, the examination centre in-charge, and Ranumal Sharma were arrested on Saturday night, said Sitaram Khoja, the station house officer of Sadar police station in Barmer district.
Giving details about the incident, Khoja said that a question paper of Hindi subject for the Grade-2 teachers examination, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, had gone over on social media during the examination time. A case was registered in the matter against some unknown people under sections 3, 4/6 of the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act the same day.
During the investigation, it was found that the question paper had gone viral from the examination centre at Madhav College in Barmer district, the SHO said . “It was found that both accused allowed an unauthorised man with some electronic device, which was restricted in the centre, and helped him in to leak the paper over social media,” he added.
Khoja said the police have also identified the people who actually leaked the paper and launched a hunt for them.
