PM Modi, Shah, Yogi Adityanath to lead BJP’s poll campaign in state
: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released its list of 40 star campaigners for the assembly elections, which includes Prime minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP chief ministers from neighbouring states, including Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh, Chouhan and Haryana CM, Manohar Khattar, will also campaign.
The campaign will begin after the last day of withdrawal of candidature on November 22. PM Modi’s first rally is likely on November 23. Modi is expected to address 10 public rallies and Shah will address 12 public meetings. Adityanath is likely to hold the highest number of rallies at 20.
Rajasthan election incharge Prakash Javadekar and state incharge Avinash Rai Khanna are also among the star campaigners.
Union ministers who will campaign in Rajasthan include Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharti, Smriti Irani and Piyush Goyal. Varanasi MP Hema Malini and Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat are also included. Shekhawat is Jodhpur MP and convener of BJP’s election management committee while Meghwal is Bikaner MP and co-convener of the committee.
Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader Om Prakash Mathur and state party president Madanlal Saini are also part of the campaign. BJP state general secretary (organisation) Chandrasekhar and state joint general secretary (organisation) V Satish will also campaign.
