POLL PITCH BJP national gen secy says party will not accept this JAIPUR:

BJP general secretary Murlidhar Rao has alleged the Congress is misguiding the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs) and plans to reduce their reservation, but BJP will not accept this division and discrimination.

The Congress has aligned with Maoists in Telangana and is planning to work for them and their ideology, said Rao, addressing a press conference in Jaipur on Friday.

Congress in its manifesto in Telangana has declared to give reservation of SC status to Christians, whereas SC status was only for those Hindus who are victims of untouchability and many of such victims have changed their religion then how can they be SCs, Rao asked.

He said Telangana cannot give reservation to SCs as an amendment has to be done in the parliament, but the Congress wants to give SC reservation to Christians. “BJP wants to ask Rahul Gandhi that is Telangana manifesto has been made with eye on 2019 Lok Sabha elections?” he asked. “The Telangana manifesto also says to give an additional support of ₹20 lakh for minority students willing to study abroad. How Congress can make religion based discrimination? Through such announcements the Congress agenda has come out in open,” he said.

Rao alleged that Congress wants to divide the country and communities, whereas BJP stands for justice for all, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

The (Cong’s) Telangana manifesto also promieses to give an additional support of ₹20 lakh for minority students willing to study abroad. How can the Congress make religion based discrimination?

MURALIDHAR RAO, BJP general secretary

Rao said, “Only six days are left for voting and BJP top leaders will visit all the assembly constituencies in Rajasthan including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, chief minister Vasundhara Raje, unions minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yodi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh.”

He said BJP has planned to organise public meetings in all the 200 constituencies, in which people will be told about the state’s and centre’s achievements. Apart from this, workers will go door to door to tell about the important things in the manifesto and each section of the society will be told about the welfare schemes made for them in the manifesto. Even the party workers have been told as what should be the reply for Congress’ questions, he said.

Congress spokesperson Satyendra Raghav said, “We are not playing any divisive politics and we are talking about development. The BJP, on the other hand, is removed from issues. Instead of talking about development, it is talking about religion, Ganga and caste of Hanuman.”
