Principal arrested over remarks on Pulwama

BIKANER: The education directorat­e in Bikaner has suspended a government school principal of Pratapgarh district over alleged insensitiv­e comments on martyrs of Pulwama terrorist attack.

The pri nci pal was l at e r arrested, Pratapgarh SHO Daulat Sing said.

Director of secondary education Nathmal Didel said, “Principal Mohammad Ikram Ajmeri of govt senior higher secondary school at Kuni was suspended on the report of Pratapgarh district collector under Rajasthan civil services rules for allegedly making insulting comments for the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the terror attack.”

Pratapgarh district collector Shyam Singh Rajpurohit said, “Students and locals of the area approached the principal seeking his permission to organise a condolence meeting in the school to pay their last tributes to the Pulwama martyrs. Principal Ajmeri refused the request and made derogatory comments on the martyrdom of CRPF personals.” Rajpurohit said the principal’s remarks had angered the students and the aggrieved l ocals staged a protest and blocked the roads demanding action on the principal.

4 STUDENTS SUSPENDED

Four students of NIMS University were suspended for posting anti-national message over Pulwama attack on Whtasapp group, said an official order released by the university on Saturday. HTC
