One more aide of Gurjar held; ₹50K reward on 7 more

JAIPUR: One more aide of gangster Vikram alias Papla Gurjar was arrested by the special operations group of Rajasthan police on Sunday who was allegedly involved in opening firing in Behror police station on September 6.

The accused was identified as Dishant Gurjar against whom a cash reward of Rs 50,000 was declared by state police on Wednesday. So far 13 aides of Papla have been arrested.

In another developmen­t, SOG announced reward of Rs 50,000 on seven people. Earlier, the same reward has been announced for six others. The DGP has also announced a reward of Rs 100,000 on the arrest of Papla Gurjar.

The seven accused were identified as Ballu alias Balwan, Chandarapa­l alias Chandu, Rahul Gurjar and Prashant, all natives of Rewari district of Haryana. The rest three were identified as Ashok Gurjar, native of Alwar district; Rajveer Gurjar, native of Mahendraga­rh district of Haryana and Bhoop Singh, native of Jhunjhunu district.

According to an order released from the office of additional director general of police (ADGP) anti-terror squad and special operations group (ATS-SOG) Anil Paliwal , a cash reward of Rs 50,000 each will be given to those who will give correct informatio­n about the accused.

The order reads, “During investigat­ion it was found that the six accused helped in freeing Papla alias Vikram Gurjar who was detained by Behror police on September 6. No success has been achieved in detaining them that’s why a reward of Rs 50,000 each has been declared on their head.”

On Friday, the police headquarte­rs had announced a reward of Rs one lakh for informatio­n leading to Papla’s arrest. Similarly, on last Wednesday, a reward of Rs 50,000 each was declared on six aides of Papla identified as Akash Yadav, Dharamavee­r Gurjar, Ashok Gurja , Dishant Gurjar, Dinesh Kumar and Somdutt Gujrar. All are natives of Haryana.

On Sunday, DGP Bhupendra Singh also reached Alwar and met the senior police officials of Bhiwadi police and SOG to take a stock of situation. He took a detailed meeting on progress in the Papla’s escape case.

Meanwhile, ten days after the escape, the Rajasthan police has not been able to find Papla.

There were 11 policemen including SHO Sugan Singh in the police station at the time of the escape. ab and Rajasthan.
