Two incidents of sexual abuse with minor girl reported

JAIPUR: Two incidents of sexual abuse with minor girls were reported in Chittorgarh district, police said on Sunday.

In her complaint filed on Saturday, a 16-year old girl of Gangrar town in Chittorgarh district accused her 50-year-old father of raping her.

The victim said she has two elder sisters and their mother left them many years ago. Her father started molesting her when she was in Class 6. His criminal act continued for years. When she shared her pain with the elder sisters, they told her that they too were sexually abused by their father in a similar manner, the police said, quoting the complainant. “One of the victim’s sisters married off in teen age helped her t o e s c ape f r om house and approach the child line, following which a case was registered against the father at Gangrar police station under section 376 of the IPC and relevant sections of the POCSO Act,” said Kailash Chandra, the station house officer (SHO) of Gangrar police station.

The accused father, who worked as a labourer, was arrested late on Saturday night, Chandra said. “Today (Monday), he (the father) was presented before a court which sent him to judicial custody,” he added.

In another incident, a 14-yearold girl was raped by a man for whom her mother used to cook food, police said.

In her complaint, the minor girl stated that her mother forcibly sent her to the man’s house in the Kotwali police station area. The man used to rape her at his house under the influence of alcohol, the police said, quoting the girl’s statement.

On Saturday, the girl somehow managed to reach the Kotwali police station, where a case was registered under sections 376, 323, 120-B of the IPC and relevant sections of the POCSO Act, said Sumer Singh, the SHO of Kotwali police station. The accused was arrested on Monday. “The accused is being questioned after which he would be presented before a court,” the SHO said.
