Commissioner calls for better training in ITIS
JAIPUR: Commissioner of department of skill employment and entrepreneurship Samit Sharma on Friday called upon the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIS) to improve the quality of training and help the state produce highquality workers with relevant market skills.
Sharma held a video conference at the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) headquarters in Jaipur and communicated with 229 government ITIS, 1,710 private ITIS, officials of directorate of technical education, and regional officers of department.
Sharma, also MD of RSLDC, said after inspection of ITIS in September first week, notices were issued to institutes where lapses were found. The ITIS were told to reply within 10 days.
On the basis of inspection reports, serious lapses were found in 423 ITIS and other flaws were found in 800 ITIS.
“The ITIS were told to upload their institute’s profile on the given link at portal with self-declaration,” the commissioner said.
“To streamline the anomalies found on the defaulting ITIS’ websites, a demonstration was given to principals and representatives of these ITIS to accurately fill the institute profile to make it meaningful,” Sharma said.
During the video conferencing, suggestions were given to ITIS, which were recently inspected, on ways to improve their functioning. Other areas discussed were: review of pattern of admissions in ITIS, improvement in quality of training as per t he Nati o nal Council for Vocational Training, and need to split syllabus/curriculum on a weekly basis.
