Amid frauds, govt cancels registration of 7 credit societies, to launch helpline
JAIPUR: Amid a series of frauds by cooperative societies in the state, the state government will soon launch a helpline number for the investors.
Meanwhile, the cooperative department has cancelled the registration of seven credit cooperative societies.
Cooperative minister Udai Lal Anjana said that the 181 helpline for investors would be started soon. “The aim behind launching the helpline in to identify cooperative societies involved in cheating people and action could be taken after investigating the complaint,” said Anjana.
The seven credit societies whose licence were suspended were i dentif i ed as Shubh, Sudhan, Parvati, Dani, Ambe, Keshav and Supreme credit cooperative society.
The minister also directed the credit cooperative societies to invest money only in Apex Banks and central cooperative bank. Action would be taken against those cooperative societies who will not follow the instructions.
The cooperative minister said that the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Scheme Bill has been passed by the central Government in July. “As soon as the rules are issued by the central government, te state will also form the rules will protect the i nt e r e s t s of t he i nvestors through this law. A legal expert will be assigned to make rules on behalf of the state soon,” Anjana added.
He also informed that the audit report of all the housing cooperative societies of the state will be made online. He said that action will be taken to cancel the registration of 33 housing cooperative societies of Jaipur which are not following rules. He said that after reviewing the leases issued by the housing cooperative societies, a decision will be taken in a meeting with the Urban Development Department regarding the setting up of a regular camp.
He said that in the year 2016, decisions of the cabinet sub-committee constituted in respect of housing cooperative societies will be strictly implemented.
Back to back cases of fraud cases by credit cooperative societies have appeared this year. It started with Adarsh in January followed by Sundaram , Navjeevan, and recently Sanjivani Credit Cooperative society.
Vikram Singh (39), founder of Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society alleged of duping thousands of investors worth around Rs 1,000 crores was arrested on Tuesday evening followed by four other post-holders on Wednesday.
According to official data of the police department, 385 cases are registered against 125 credit co-operative societies of the state. The three districts where maximum number of cases registered against these society were Sirohi (213), Pali (138) and Jalore (12).
