After patient’s death, kin create ruckus in hospital

THE PATIENT, MOHANLAL MEENA (60), RESIDENT OF LUHAWAD VILLAGE IN KOTA DISTRICT, DIED AT SUDHA HOSPITAL IN THE DISTRICT IN AFTERNOON AS SOON AS THE PROPERTY DEALER STEPPED OUT OF A CAR IN THE RAILWAY STATION AREA, TWO ASSAILANTS ATTACKED HIM

KOTA: Family members of a patient, who died at a private hospital in Kota on Tuesday, created ruckus at the hospital al l e gi ng negli gence i n t he patient’s treatment.

The patient, Mohanlal Meena (60), resident of Luhawad village in Kota district, died at Sudha Hospital in the district in the afternoon.

Alleging negligence in his treatment, Meena’s f amily members vandalised glass at the hospital’s reception room.

Later, Jawahar Nagar police reached the spot and controlled the situation.

“The body has been handed over to the family and situation is under control,” said Rajesh Meel, additional superinten­dent of police, Kota.

The hospital director, Dr Rajendra Agarwal, said that the patient was referred to their hospital in a critical condition a couple of days ago with infection in lungs.

“He died of his critical illness and not negligence,” the hospital directorad­ded.

PROPERTY DEALER INJURED IN FIRING

A property dealer was injured after two assailants attacked him in broad daylight in the railway station area of Kota city on Tuesday, police said.

The property dealer, Arjun Lashkari, along with his two friends, had come to the railway station area in a car from Seemliya region in Kota rural.

As soon as he stepped out of the car in the railway station area, two assailants attacked him, the police said.

“One of the two assailants fired at Lashkari, due to which he received injuries in his legs, whi l e another assailant attacked him with a knife,” said Chetan Sharma, circle inspector of Bheemganjm­andi police station in Kota city.

The two accused then fled with their third accomplice, who was waiting for them on a bike, he added.

Later, Lashkari’s friends took him to the police station, from where he was taken to the government’s Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital in Kota, where he is undergoing treatment.
