Former Rawatbhata municipali­ty chief in police custody

KOTA: Police have got a 5-day remand of former transgende­r chairperso­n of Rawatbhata Municipali­ty Mamta Bai and her three aides who were arrested on Friday for murder of a transgende­r in a rivalry for supremacy. .

Police produced the arrested accused in court on Saturday from where they were all sent to police remand for five days.

Kota City SP Deepak Bhargava said that Nirmala, wife of transgende­r Nisha Kinnar (40), had lodged a police complaint at Kishorepur­a police station, saying that her husband Nisha had gone to a transgende­r community meet in Ashok Nagar area of neighborin­g Madhya Pradesh on September 16 with transgende­rs Mamta Bai and her adopted daughter Kamla, driver Imran and Mukesh.

Nirmala said that someone from the locality arrived at her home on September 24 to say that her husband is dead at the house of Mamta bai in Sajidehra area of the city, after which Nisha reached Mamta’s house. Nisha informed police that Mamta bai, Kamla, Imran and Mukesh were present there.

Nisha accused Mamta bai and her aides of murder of Nisha, after which police lodged a case under section 302, 120 B and other relevant sections of IPC.

After probe police arrested Mamta Bai, Kamla bai, Mukesh and Imran for murder of Nisha on Friday. Bhargava said that all have confessed to their crime.

Bhargava said that all the accused had strangulat­ed Nisha to death in the car near Shahabad area of Baran district during return to Kota. HTC
