NARROW ESCAPE FOR TOURISM MINISTER IN ROAD ACCIDENT

JAIPUR: Cabinet minister Vishvendra Singh on Tuesday had a narrow escape after a truck rammed into his car near the collector’s officer in Dausa district, after losing control.

The minister informed about the accident via tweet. “On way to Jaipur now after a small road incident. I thank SP Dausa for his hospitalit­y and care. Now time to move on, and get my head around all the meetings planned for today,” he said.

Vishvendra Singh said that he was safe and was thankful to his supporters. “There is no need to worry. I am safe. Thank you for your good wishes,” the minister tweeted.though nobody was injured the rear part of the car got damaged in the impact.

A police official said that around 11.30 am, the minister was on his way to Jaipur from Bharatpur when the road accident occurred. “We have launched an investigat­ion into matter. So far we didn’t find any foul play in the accident,” the officer said.

The tourism minister was in his official car. He was sitting in the passenger seat on the back and his driver was at the wheel. “Near collector’s office in Dausa, an overspeedi­ng rammed into the car. The car was about to lose balance, but the driver somehow controlled it. One of the tyres also got busted,” the official added.

Singh left for Jaipur in a police vehicle. He was going to Jaipur to visit Rajasthan assembly speaker CP Joshi who is currently admitted at SMS hospital for treatment.

While replying to a Congress legislator from Parbastar Ramniwas Gawriya who prayed for his speedy recovery, Singh replied, “I think I will consider your suggestion of investing in a good car for my travels.”
