Diwali awards: MI Road top among markets
JAIPUR: The Jaipur Police Commissionerate on Tuesday announced the annual award for the best decoration on Diwali under nine categories.
Regarding the categories, police commissioner Anand Srivastav said four prizes were presented under each category– first, second, third and consolation.
Under the category of commercial institute, showroom or shop – first prize was presented to Motisons (Tonk Road); second, Aari Tari (Johari Bazar); third, Roop Laxmi (Johari Bazar); and consolation, JKJ Jwellers (Madhyam Marg) and Rajvesh (Johari Bazar).
Under main market category – first prize was given to MI Road; second, Sarwanand Marg; third, Madhyam Marg (Bada Bazar) and Gujjar ki Thadi to Sodala; and consolation to Rajapark and Khatipura.
In Walled City market category — first prize was given to Johari Bazar; second, Kishanpole Bazar; third, Tripolia Bazar; and consolation to Chaura Rasta.
Among small markets in the walled city – first prize was presented to Bapu Bazar; second, Nehru Bazar; third, Hawa Mahal Bazar; and consolation, Gangauri Bazar and Khazane Walon Ka
Rasta. Under religious places category, first prize was given to Akshardham temple; second, Birla Mandir; third, Khole Ke Hanuman; and consolation to Chamatkareshwar Mahadev temple.
Among government buildings, first prize went to Jaipur Municipal Corporation; second, Jaipur Development Corporation and third, RCDF, Saras Dairy.
In private building category, Kesar Garh got the first place, while LMB got the first prize in hotel category.
In malls category, Ganpati Plaza got the first prize, Pink Square was the first runner-up and Gaurav Tower the second runner-up.
Additional police commissioner Ajaypal Lamba said the decision related to decorations, sanitation and lighting were taken by a 13-member committee.
