Intensive immunization from Dec 2
JAIPUR: The ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush’ campaign will begin in the state from December 2 to bring those infants and pregnant women under the immunization umbrella who have been left out.
The campaign will also be carried out for seven days each in January, February and March 2020, Dr RS Chhipi, Director
Reproductive and Child Health programme, said.
The c a mpaig n is being launched to immunize children from 0-2 years and pregnant women who have been excluded from immunization.
He said the headcount of women and children who have been omitted from immunisation programme is underway in the state and the list is being prepared by the ANM, Asha workers and other health department officials.
Dr Chhipi said the intensive Mission Indradhanush will be organised for a week from December 2, 2019. The campaign will be carried out for a week each from January 8, February 3 and March 2, 2020.
Dr Chippi stressed on the active support of various departments for effective implementation of the intensive immunization programme. He said the women and child development, Panchayati Raj, education, police and labour departments need to be fully involved.
He directed officials to hold daily monitoring and review meetings at the state, district and block levels of the immunization campaign and said the officials need to work with the mission that not a single infant or pregnant woman should be left out from immunization.
Indradhanush was launched in December 2014 and Intensified Mission Indradhanush was launched in 2017 and aims to increase full immunization of children to 90% by 2020. The focus under the campaign is on pockets of low immunization coverage.
