JAIPUR: The Congress-led government in Rajasthan is all set to roll out new policies and schemes on its first anniversary on December 17, officials close to the chief minister’s office said.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday constituted a ministerial sub-committee for the programmes to be held on the government’s first anniversary. The committee comprises ministers BD Kalla, Lal Chand Kataria, Raghu Sharma, Shale Mohammad, Mamta Bhupesh, Ashok Chandna and Subhash Garg. Information and public relations department (DIPR) minister Raghu Sharma will be the convener of the committee.

Addressing a state-level farmers’ meet at Vidhyadhar Nagar stadium earlier this year, Gehlot had said the government would announce new schemes and policies in addition to the decisions for farmers, such as loan waiver.

The CM will launch Nirogi Rajasthan campaign, Janata clinic, Jan Aadhar card, new industrial policy and Rajasthan investment promotion scheme (RIPS), and one stop solution (OSS) replacing the single window system to attract investments.

An official release from the CM’S office stated that on the first anniversary of the government many programmes will be organised, where announcements will be made in continua

tion to the pro-people work done. “In the last one year, the state government has introduced ma n y p r o g r a mme s and schemes, which have made people’s life easy. Similarly, new projects and programmes have been prepared. On the anniversary, a run for Nirogi Rajasthan campaign will be organised,” the communiqué said.

Sharma said Nirogi Rajasthan campaign will not be confined to a fixed period; health check-up of every citizen will be done and under this. “The theme of the campaign is preventive action for communicable and non-communicable diseases and vaccination drive. The focus is on creating awareness among public and detecting diseases at the primary stage,” he said.

A senior health official said on anonymity that a geriatric department will be opened in every medical college for senior citizens through which free health services will be given.

The ‘one stop solution’ (OSS) i s being set up t o f acilitate investment proposals of over Rs 10 crore and expedite approvals and clearances in the Bureau of Investment and Promotions (BIP), officials said. For this the Rajasthan Enterprises Single Window Enabling and Clearance Act 2011 will be amended. OSS will be the single-point contact for regulatory clearances and fiscal incentives approvals to facilitate investors looking to set up a business in Rajasthan.

RIPS 2019 has been made after comparing schemes of nearby and leading states on fiscal incentives, ease of doing business, and protection and facilitation of setting up and operating industries. Most of the states had brought in new schemes after the GST was introduced but not Rajasthan, which was impacting the investment scenario in the state.

The Bhamashah Card, which has former chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s photo, will be replaced with Jan Aadhar Card, which will have QR code. The scheme will not only change name, it will also cover more schemes – from 56 now to 200. In the new card, every member of a family will get unique identification (UID). Currently, only head of the family has UID.
