JAIPUR: Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot on Monday alleged that the people aren’t able to keep faith in the Union government due to their negative policies, economic slowdown and unemployment.

He s ai d t he government instead of controlling inflation, slowdown or unemployment is constantly passing such bills to divert the attention of the public.

He said the‘bharat Bachao’ rally by the Congress in Delhi on December 14 will be attended by people from across the state to send a strong message that Centre’s economic policy has failed. He said the country has never faced such levels of unemployment and slowdown.

Banks are going bankrupt, telecom companies are in poor state and industrialists are coming forward and saying that there is an atmosphere of fear and terror.

On state government’s first anniversary, he said unlike the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), we aren’t going to celebrate and waste the hard earned money of the people, like the previous BJP government did.

People have appreciated congress government’s work and apart from Lok Sabha polls; they supported the party in all the elections from bypolls to municipal. On ongoing controversy over Panipat film, he said the project should be done properly after verifying facts.

If the project done is distant from facts than people will be upset. “I appeal to everyone not to resort to violence. If erstwhile ruler Surajmal is depicted in a wrongf u l manner then it shouldn’t happen. The central government should intervene. This issue should be seen above party line,” he said.

He said the results of the Karnataka assembly bypolls were not as expected.

Regarding the upcoming panchayat polls, he said the previous BJP government intentionally brought educational clause in the poll, which the Congress government removed as promised.

Referring to the Hyderabad rape incident, the deputy chief minister said he agreed with the chief justice of India’s remark that justice cannot take the form of revenge.

“The criminals should get punishment but it is a matter of investigation if they attacked the police or not. There should be speedy t ri al and t he guilty should hanged.”

Deputy CM Pilot, on Hyderabad rape incident said, “I agree with what the Chief Justice of India…it is wrong if justice turns into revenge. ,” he said.

BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said Karnataka assembly bypoll results shows people’s faith in the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi. Indian economy is far better than many countries.

The Union government is constantly working in strengthening the economy. Development works such as providing electricity in every household, gas connection, toilets, direct transfer of funds in bank accounts are all historic initiatives, he said.
