MAN ROBBED OF CAR AS HE STOPS AT TEA SHOP

GURUGRAM: Two unidentifi­ed men allegedly stole a Baleno car at gunpoint from its owner, when he has stopped for tea near the Hero Honda Chowk on Saturday close to midnight, said the police.

According to the police, the incident took place around 12.30 am when the victim, a resident of Alwar was returning to his house and had stopped his car near a tea vendor for a breather.

In the police complaint, he said, “I was returning to my house after completing work at a logistics company in Sector 37. I stopped near Hero Honda Chowk to have tea. I parked the car and was heading towards the vendor when a white Swift Dzire, in which at least four persons were seated, stopped in front of me. Two of them alighted from the car.”

The police said one of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim’s chest and demanded he hand over his car keys. Before he could react, another suspect then snatched his car keys.

A police official privy to the investigat­ion, requesting anonymity, said the two suspects then drove away with his car towards Jaipur, followed by their aides in the Swift Dzire car. “As per the complainan­t, his laptop and some documents were also in the car at the time of the incident. The police are checking footage from CCTVS in the area to identify the suspects,” said the police official.

A case was registered against the unidentifi­ed suspects under sections 379 B (snatching), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Arms Act at Sadar police station, said the police.

On November 28, three unidentifi­ed men had allegedly stolen a car from a 48-year-old man at Iffcco Chowk. HTC
