JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Monday that the state government has fulfilled 24% of promises made in the party manifesto.

“A total of 503 promises were made in the manifesto and the government has fulfilled 119 of them, which is 24%,” he said, addressing reporters at his residence in Jaipur on Monday, a day before his government’s first anniversary.

The state government will launch a comprehensive campaign for health, Nirogi Rajasthan, on its first anniversary on Tuesday.

Gehlot said the campaign will be the top priority of the state government which is being introduced in the larger interest of people of the state.

“We are committed for delivering good, transparent, sensitive and accountable governance. It was the Congress government in 1998, which started the tradition of adopting manifesto as policy document. In this government also the election manifesto was approved in a cabinet meeting and according work is being done,” he said.

He said in last Congress government, free medicine and test scheme was introduced and now Nirogi Rajasthan campaign is launched.

People from outside state are coming to Rajasthan for treatment. Over 900 free medicines are given under the scheme, he claimed. “Nirogi Rajasthan will be a comprehensive health campaign and awareness will be created about health issues. Under the campaign, the government will provide free MRI and CT scan to senior citizens and BPL families. The campaign will be the top priority of the state government. We want to make Rajasthan a role model in health services,” he said.

Gehlot said in the recently held video conferencing with district collectors, nine government personnel were suspended for dereliction in duty.

“We have decided to hold video conference (VC) every month. We are committed to deliver good governance. We are developing mechanism where public grievances are redressed at district level,” he said.
