NWR GETS FIVE AWARDS FOR SAVING ENERGY
JAIPUR: The electrical department of the North Western Railway (NWR) celebrated energy conservation week from December 9 to 14, during which exhibitions, seminars, essays and drawing competitions were organized to promote electricity conservation, said a release.
On Monday, a seminar on energy conservation was also organized at NWR headquarters, the release added.
NWR g e n e r a l manag e r Anand Prakash, principal chief electrical engineer Brajesh Gupta, pr i nci pal heads o f departments and officers and employees were present in the seminar.
In his address, the GM laid emphasis on adopting new technology in energy conservation and installing more and more solar panels at all stations and service buildings.
He appreciated the NWR for the awards given on Rajasthan Energy Conservation Day and hoped that in future the zone will perform even better.
The principal chief electrical engineer gave details of the works being done under energy conservation across NWR and requested everyone to make meaningful efforts for it.
He said that this year five Rajasthan Energy Conservation Awards have been given to the NWR: Jodhpur station got first prize in station building category and second prize was given to Gandhi Nagar Jaipur station; NWR HQ building received first prize in the office building category.
The Aj mer a nd Bi kaner workshops have been awarded appreciation letter in the workshops category.
These awards were given by the state government to NWR on December 14.
