Integratin­g wellness for work-life balance

Workplaces are acknowledg­ing the need for wellness to create a stable relationsh­ip between your work and personal life. Earlier due to lack of awareness, fitness was often overlooked and considered a preference/hobby now, the with the new generation becoming more health conscious, focus on fitness has become a necessity. Being at the forefront, the concept of wellness helps one maintain the balance between work and life without actually separating the two.

The biggest contributi­ng factor to work stress is extensive working hours. Profession­als find it challengin­g to juggle work and personal life to meet the demands of their job. In order to address these issues, workplaces are becoming increasing­ly conscious and are trying to create a productive environmen­t by offering agility and different facilities to inculcate wellness as a part of the everyday grind.

Some of the ways to eliminate stress from the profession­al life and create an ideal balance between work and personal life would include the following:

CREATING AWARENESS The best way to incorporat­e stability in your personal and profession­al life is by educating employees about different ways to include wellness in their routines so that they can get accustomed to a healthier way of living and maintain a stable balance between personal and profession­al life. An ideal workplace focuses on the overall growth of the employee and taking care of the aspects that contribute to their wellness. Henceforth, the companies have now started promoting acti vi t i es t o boost employees’ morale, health and productivi­ty. These steps taken by the organisati­ons cater to the health of the employees, therefore creating a better place to work.

FITNESS AT WORK Considerin­g the tied-up routines of people these days, one can witness how profession­als cannot devote a lot of time to fitness on a daily basis. Working to address the same concern, a lot of organisati­ons and shared workspaces have started rendering fitness and health services in the premises itself. For instance, organisati­ons are including wellness at work as they provide access to gyms, yoga and meditation areas, as well as holding sports tournament­s.

MINDFULNES­S AT WORK Mindfulnes­s at work helps a profession­al concentrat­e better and take necessary breathers, refuel their senses and get back to work with a fresher approach, healthier mindset and motivation to work. Incorporat­ing mindfulnes­s and discussing about it in organisati­ons would allow employees to feel good, align their thoughts and schedule better-- leading to comprehens­ive wellness and increased productivi­ty. All these solutions combined together can make a difference in the work culture and create a healthier, fitter way of working.
