Dausa man kills wife over suspicion of extramarit­al affair

During investigat­ion, through statements of relatives of the couple we came to know that the accused husband was habitual of alcohol and doubted that her wife had an extramarit­al affair

JAIPUR: A man was arrested from Dausa district on Sunday for allegedly killing his wife on the suspicion on having an extramarit­al affair.

The accused under inebriated condition had al s o t ri ed t o attack his children, but they managed to escape, the police said.

According to the police, the incident was reported from Meenapara village under Manpur police station area.

Station house officer (SHO) of Manpur police station, Mangi Lal said that the accused, Kaluram Meena (29), had beat up his wife Kishmi Meena (25) with a l athi ( stick) f or f our hours, resulting in her death.

“We received informatio­n on Sunday evening that Kishmi have been killed, following which a police team, along with forensic science l aboratory (FSL) experts, reached the spot for inspection. During investigat­ion, through statements of relatives of the couple we came to know that the accused husband was habitual of alcohol and doubted that her wife had an extramarit­al affair,” said Lal.

The couple’s relatives told police that Kaluram used to beat up Kishmi regularly. Around 5pm on Saturday, when she was coming after working at farms, Kaluram started beating up her on the way and took her to home where he again thrashed When her sister-in-law (wife of Kaluram’s elder brother) tried to

intervene, Kaluram slapped her too and locked Kishmi in a room and beat up her again. Around 10.30pm, he went out and drank more liquor and again beat up her with sticks. He also tried to attack her six-year-old daughter and three-year-old son, but Kaluram’s brother reached the spot and ran away with the kids towards farm,” the SHO added.

“The husband beat her wife so brutally that she fell unconsciou­s. At that time Kaluram realised that her wife had sustained serious injuries on head and other part of t he body. Around 11.30pm, Kaluram took Kishmi to a nearby community health care centre, but they referred her to district hospital. Fearing arrest, he came back and left her wife at home and fled. He was arrested on Sunday afternoon,” the SHO added.

A case against Kaluram was registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections by his father-in-law.
