Unemployment, inflation may create starvation: Gehlot
CALL CM asks Youth Cong, NSUI members to attend rally in Jaipur
RSS should convert itself in a political party and merge BJP and then come out in open
JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday accused the Bjp-led government at the centre of trying to divert attention from the real issues warning that the issues such as inflation and unemployment “may create starvation in the country”
“People are very concerned on what is happening in the country today. If you disagree with them (the Union government), then you are not a patriot. Inflation and unemployment, increasing in the country, are the real issues, which may create starvation in the country,” said Gehlot, addressing the workers of Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI), ahead of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Yuva Akrosh rally, to be held in Jaipur on January 28.
“Unemployment disturbs law and order. Why loot, dacoity, rape are happening? One of the
ASHOK GEHLOT, chief minister reasons behind this is unemployment. Where will they (youths) go when they do not have jobs,” he said.
Taking a dig at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gehlot said, “. “RSS should convert itself in a political party and merge BJP and then come out in open.”
Talking about t he Yuva Akrosh rally, he urged the Youth Congress and NSUI members to take part in the rally in large numbers from all over the state.
In a veiled attack on the BJP’S student wing, Gehlot said, “Masked people are entering universities in connivance with police. Such things were never heard.”
State Congress chief and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, who was also present in the meeting, said Yuva Akrosh rally is being held in Jaipur on the directions of All India Congress Committee and Congress Working Committee. “In the rally, Gandhi will be raising youth’s issues,” he said. He also accused the centre of diverting people from the real issues.
BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said the state government has failed to fulfil its duties, be it maintaining the law and order, education, health or development in the state.
“The CM is focusing less on state issues and more on national issue to hide his failures. The central government is working to fulfil promises made to the people. The country is in a better situation than other countries suffering from economic slowdown,” he said.
