Pilot says master plans will be made for villages
JAIPUR: For planned development of villages, master plans will be made keeping in mind future needs of the area and providing for education, health, sports facilities, parks government buildings, Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot said in the assembly.
Replying on the demand for grants for the rural development department, Pilot, who is also the rural development and panchayati raj minister, said land for community and public welfare works in villages would be identified keeping in mind the needs for the next 30 years.
He said keeping in mind the population expansion in next 30 years, facilities have been proposed for development of villages. These include education, health, animal husbandry and dairy development, water sources, electricity, transport, recreation, government offices, employee residences, public toilets, commercial centres, pasturelands, water conservation structures, agriculture mandis, telephone exchange, common service centres and industrial units for which land will be identified.
He said the master plans will be prepared in consultation with elected representatives of the panchayats, patwaris and panchayat samiti employees. After it is prepared, the master plan will be discussed in the gram panchayats and will be passed in the gram sabha.
Grants will be given by the state finance commission for administrative work on preparing the plan.
On progress of the master plans, Pilot said till March 4, 375 training programmes have been organize in villages. Plans for 42352 villages have been prepared, of which 37296 have been approved by the gram panchayat s a nd 3 7 0 0 6 have be e n approved by gram sabhas.
While replying on the demand for grants for the Public Works Department, Pilot said under the first phase of phase 3 of the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, upgradation work on 2198 km of rural roads will be carried out in this year.
He said 850 km new roads, 600 km missing links, 350 km cementconcrete roads will be completed in the coming year. In phase 1, Vikas Path will be completed in 183 gram panchayats and he announced second phase of the Vikas Path.
He said bitumen roads would be laid in 342 villages of 500 and above population by 2021. He announced that 26 bridges have been identified for renovation and strengthening and that pending work work on NH 89 between Ajmer-nagaur and Nagaur-bikaner would be started.
He said under the state roads fund, renovation and strengthening of roads would be carried out.
