Six inmates booked for assaulting deputy jailor

JAIPUR : Six inmates of the Jaipur central jail were booked for beating up t he prison staff, police said on Wednesday.
According to a complaint given by the Jaipur central jail administration to the Lal Kothi police, the incident took place at 10.20am on Tuesday. “Two inmates, identified as Virendra Singh and Akash, were fighting in ward number 3. When guard of the cell, Sunil Kumar, intervened to stop them, Virendra slapped him, after which other staff also reached the ward to control the situation,” stated Rakesh Mohan Sharma, the jail superintendent, in his complaint to the police.
At the same time two more inmates, identified as Jitendra Singh alias Jeetu and Vishnu Singh, were coming towards ward number 2 after meeting their relatives in their allotted time.

A CASE WAS REGISTERED AND ALL SIX ACCUSED WERE BOOKED UNDER SECTION 332 AND SECTION 353 OF THE INDIAN PENAL CODE, AN OFFICER SAID
Singh, Sangram Singh and Bhawani Singh alias Roni, came charging towards the jail staff and tried to beat up the jail staff present at the spot. More staff was called and a mild force was used to control the situation,” Sharma said.
Later, during checking of the inmates, a mobile phone and a set of batteries were recovered from the possession of Jeetu.
Station house officer (SHO) of Lal Kothi police station Raysal Singh said, “We have registered a case. Six accused were booked under section 332 (voluntarily causes grievous hurt to any person being a public servant) and section 353 (use of criminal force on public servant in execution of his duties) of the IPC,” Singh said.
