Five killed as dumper rams into car in Ajmer

JAIPUR: Five people were killed after a dumper rammed into a car in Ajmer around 3pm on Wednesday.

According to the police, impact of the collision was so severe that front part of the car got badly damaged.

“The incident took place on Ajmer-jaipur mega highway near Rupangarh. The car was coming from Nagaur district on the single lane road, and driver of the dumper coming from the opposite side lost control and rammed into the car,” a police official said.

The passersby informed the police and ambulance, but the persons inside car died on the spot. “The driver of the dumper fled the spot after the incident. However, the vehicle was seized,” the official added.

The deceased have been identified as Ram Vilas, Shaukeen Khan, Surendra Singh, Sanjay and Ram Chnadra. Their bodies have been kept in a mortuary in the district hospital and will be handed over to family members after the post-mortem.

The victims were identified as Shyam Banjara (9) and Ganesh Banjara (4) of Kapren town and the bodies were handed over to family members after autopsy.
