JAIPUR: About 1,500 teams have started screening of all people in Jhunjhunu district to contain the spread of coronavirus, officials said on Wednesday.

According t o t he health department data, Jhunjhunu is Rajasthan’s third most affected district with 23 corona-positive cases. The challenge before the district administration is that all the positive cases have been reported from eight pockets.

In Bhilwara, all 27 positive cases were found in the city area; in Jaipur, 109 cases have been found positive but more than 70 are from the Ramganj area which has become the epicentre in the state capital. The district has long interstate border with Haryana with a number blacktop and kuchcha roads. “Hence the task is complicated, which can be seen from positive cases reported from different locations,” the collector said.

“Sub-divisional magistrates, teshildars, deputy superintendents of police (DSPS) and station house officers (SHOS) are on the field to monitor the survey. We are also registering FIRS against those violating lockdown,” Khan said.

From March 22, as many as 287 people have been arrested under section 151 of CRPC for not following the lockdown orders. Till
