Minister briefs Centre team on Covid fight; tally 9,475
JAIPUR: With 102 Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday, Rajasthan’s total count went up to 9,475, according to the health department.
Bharatpur district, which has seen a sharp rise in cases in the last couple of days, reported 18 cases while Alwar district had 13 cases. Naguar recorded 13 cases.
Jaipur reported 28 cases and Jhalawar 10. Baran, Dungarpur and Rajsamand reported 3 cases each. Karauli and Sirohi reported two cases and two cases were of persons from other states. Churu and Dholpur had one case each, the health bulletin said.
No death was reported from the state. The toll stands at 203.
The number of migrants testing positive continues to grow with 2,712 testing positive so far.
The number of recovered patients stands at 6506 while the active cases number 2766. The total number of samples taken in the state is 4,40,789.
Health minister Raghu Sharma interacted with a team of officials from the union health ministry on Wednesday and apprised them about the state government’s Covid-19 management.
The team members appreciated Rajasthan government’s work in corona management.
Sharma presented details of the measures taken by the state government for contact tracing, quarantine facilities, corona testing. He said for general medical and health services, the state government had run 550 mobile vans and started tele-medicine facility.
Sharma said testing facilities will be developed in each of the 33 districts and in the first phase, 10 districts where migrants have returned in large numbers have been identified and testing facility will begin by next week.
Sharma said in addition to the Covid-19 management, the national health programmes are also being implemented.
He said the government is working to strengthen the health infrastructure in the state. The government has decided that MLALAD fund will be used only for health services and there will be no shortage of funds.
Sharma said the government is also filling up vacancies and providing training to health staff. He said 735 doctors have been appointed and advertisements have been published for appointment of another 2000 doctors.
The minister said 12,000 paramedi c a l staff have been appointed in a bid to strengthen the system.
