15-YEAR-OLD BOY’S MOTHER ALLEGES HER SON WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED, BURNT WITH CIGARETTES

JAIPUR/ BIKANER: A 15-yearold boy from Bikaner district was allegedly kidnapped and brutally thrashed by four people, police said.

According to a complaint filed by the boy’s mother on Monday at Bajju police station, the four kidnappers poured petrol on his son’s private parts and he was burnt with cigarettes.

“The accused and the victim’s families have old dispute. Our preliminary probe reveals that the boy sustained minor injuries on his genitals and other parts,” said Priti Chandra, superintendent of police (SP), Bikaner.

The victim’s mother claimed that her child was sexually molested but Chandra said that the medical report didn’t confirm that it was a rape. “The investigation of the case is being done by a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) rank officer,” the SP said.

The victim’s mother told police that on December 5 last year, her teenage son was going to his maternal grandfather when he was kidnapped by four accused and taken to Lunkaransar town.

Of the four, one was their neighbour and others were their relatives.

“On the way, the accused who were in a pick-up van forced my son to drink liquor and also beat him. Later, the accused took my child to a hotel in Lunkaransar where he was brutally thrashed again. First, they poured petrol on his genitals, then three of the accused forced my son into sexual act. When he resisted, they again beat him and forcefully made him to drink liquor again,” the victim’s mother told police.

HT has a copy of her statements.

“The accused later tortured my son by making burns with cigarettes and then threatened him they will kill me and my husband,” she alleged.

“My son was held captive in a hotel room. However, on January 4, he managed to escape and shared his ordeal with a truck driver. My son requested the driver to drop him in Bajju,” she said. “As soon as my son reached home, he shared his ordeal with me, after which I took her to hospital and got involved in his treatment. Hence, there was a delay in registration of an FIR.”

A police official familiar with the development of the case said on the condition of anonymity that there were visible injury marks on the hands, legs, elbows and upper parts of the face.

Omprakash Kelaniya, deputy superintendent of police who is also investigating officer of this case, said that they have got certain clues and are working on them. The accused will be soon arrested.

“We are collecting facts related to the case. I will personally go to the hotel where the alleged incident took place and talk to the victim personally soon. So far, a team has been created to nab the accused who would be in police net soon,” said Kelaniya.

A case has been registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (assault to outrage modesty) and other sections of Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
