UDAIPUR: A government hospital’s doctor in Dungarpur district has registered a case against Sagwara BTP MLA Ramprasad Dindor for misbehaving and slapping him at the hospital on Tuesday.

The MLA, however, denied the charges and accused the doctor of demanding a bribe from the husband of a pregnant woman for her treatment.

According to reports, Prabhu Nanuma, a resident of Sabla village of Sagwara, had complained to the BTP MLA against the gynecologist of the government hospital, Rohit Labana, for allegedly demanding money from him for treating his pregnant wife, following which the MLA reached the hospital to talk to the doctor. The MLA and the doctor reportedly had an heated argument and the MLA allegedly slapped the doctor on duty, following which doctors of the hospital began a protest. Soon, the station house officer of Sagwara police station, Ajay Singh reached the venue to control the situation.

Dindor said, “We were just trying to make the doctor understand that he should behave properly with people and not take money from any patient.”

Dr Rohit Labana said, “Someone came to me at the hospital and said that MLA Ramprasad is calling me downstairs. When I went down he was standing with the man who complaint against me, our PMO was also there, as soon as I reached there MLA started misbehaving with me by blaming me to take money for treating the man’s wife, he slapped me once and kept on threatening me by saying that he will see me.”

Someone from the crowd recorded the entire incident on his mobile phone, which later surfaced on social media.

Dungerpur SP Sudhir Joshi said a case has been registered against the MLA on the report of the doctor and an investigation has been launched.
