CM inaugurates schemes worth ₹137 crore in four constituencies
Bypolls are scheduled to be conducted in Sujangarh, Sahada, Vallabhnagar and Rajsamand
JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stone for various schemes worth ₹137 crore in four assembly constituencies, where bypolls are expected be held in a couple of months.
The constituencies are Vallabhnagar in Udaipur, Sujangarh in Churu, Sahada in Bhilwara and Rajsamand.
Speaking on the occasion, Gehlot said, “It was unfortunate that we lost four colleagues in the assembly. People say that we have launched this programme before bypolls, but in democracy we have to keep the development works going and to serve people is our responsibly and duty too. These projects are not launched in hurry, their orders were sanctioned in past. We have inaugurated them so that people of these areas can be benefited.”
Gehlot assured the people of the four constituencies that he, along with his in-charge ministers, would look after their problems. “We will assure that basic problems like water, electricity, education, health etc can be addressed,” Gehlot said.
Speaker CP Joshi, state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasara and several ministers were present on the occasion,
Gehlot praised Joshi for
“always” giving ideas for the development of people and state.
“Joshi is an intellectual person and he keeps on giving ideas for the development of state,” he said.
Urban development and housing minister Shanti Dhariwal made several announcements for Rajsamand and Sahada assembly constituencies. Dhariwal said that a hostel will be built in Bhilwara district for the students of Bhil society.
He announced that in Gangapur municipality of Sahada, development work will be done at a cost of ₹200 crore.
“These development works will be initiated once we will get approval of loan from Asian Development Bank,” he said.
Dhariwal announced purchase of a fire fighting system, vehicles and cleaning equipment for Gangapur municipality at a cost of ₹2 crore.
For Rajsamand, Dhariwal announced Rajsamand Canal at a cost of ₹28 crore, along with a marble market and a waste disposal plant.
During the ceremony, cooperative minister Udaylal Anjana appealed to the people of the four constituencies to vote for Congress in the coming bypolls.
State BJP president Satish Poonia said, “The inauguration of projects is against the value of democracy and unethical. These announcements just a few months before bypolls indicate that earlier this government used to discriminate with people of the state on the lines of where they have cast their votes.”
Poonia added that seeing the pace of implementation of various other projects, these announcements will only remain on paper.
