Shershaah trailer launched on Kargil Vijay Diwas in Kargil
In a tribute to late Captain Vikram Batra (Param Vir Chakra) and the Indian armed forces, Amazon Prime Video launched the trailer of the muchawaited Amazon Original movie, Shershaah, in Kargil, during the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations. The day, observed annually on
July 26, honours the heroes of the Kargil War. The event was attended by actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, director Vishnu Varadhan, producers Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, and Vijay Subramaniam, director and head, content, Amazon Prime Video.
Shershaah celebrates the bravery of Captain Vikram Batra and honours his supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War. True to his codename ‘Shershaah’, Captain Batra fought till his last breath in one of the toughest mountain warfare missions, which helped India finally win the Kargil War in 1999.

Directed by Varadhan, Shershaah is inspired by the life of Captain Batra (PVC) and stars Malhotra and Advani in the lead roles, along with Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra in pivotal roles.
The film, jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment, is the first ever and landmark collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and Dharma Productions. It will have a global release across 240 countries and territories on August 12.
