Rashtriya Lokdal D) is set to launch ‘Nyay a’ in 11 districts of western with an aim to formulate political and social equas in the region ahead of coming Assembly election e state. ccording to senior party ers, the rally has been conualized with an aim to h out to marginalized SC/ST munity who in many cases been deprived of justice. also aimed to develop a ort base for RLD among ommunity members. e 22-day Yatra would begin Saharanpur on August 7. ter the death of Ch Ajit h his son Jayant Choudhary earheading the party and in few months,he had shown nterest in associating with ers and people from differdomain of the society to n its support base. he RLD used to be seen as a y dominated by the Jat comity and its base is also in Jat inated western UP. ut Jayant has now associated with many Muslims, Brahmins, Dalit leaders and people in the party ahead of Assembly elections in the state. He also worked hard to reach out to people of different communities by organising many successful ‘ Kisan Maha Panchayat in different districts of western UP to express his party’s solidarity with farmers protesting against the three contentious farm bills,” said a senior party leader.

Party’s national president for SC/ ST cell Prashant Kanojia has been given the responsibility of ‘Nyay Yatra’ and he believed that it would certainly mobilise members of the community towards RLD.

He reminds that Dalits supported Ch Charan Singh in the region and after emergence of Kanshiram and Mayawati they consolidated behind them.

Kanojia explains that situation is again changing now.

“Dalits dissatisfied by the politics of Mayawati are now looking for other political patronage,” said Kanojia who further explains that we should not restrict ourselves to see only Jatavs as Dalits but there are many other castes in Dalits who are still marginalized and deprived of their rights.

He said that we will try to reach out to those families who have been deprived of justice and ruling BJP government in the state has ignored them. He cited example of the family of Hathras incident who has not given compensation yet.

He said that such families had been identified by seeking assistance of party’s local units in the districts and party leaders will meet members of these families during ‘ Nyay Yatra’.

Party’s regional president Yashbeer Singh claims that Yatra is an attempt to share grief and pain of those Dalit families who have been denied justice in the BJP rule.

The Yatra will also demand to make contractual scavengers permanent and to replace manual salvaging with machines, withdraw cases from Dalits imposed during ‘ Bharat Band’ in 2017 and to provide compensation of Rs 4 lakh to all those died of Corona.

The RLD has tied up with the Samajwadi Party and will contest UP assembly elections jointly.
