New projects worth ₹8568 crore for Ayodhya soon: Adityanath

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced that 17 projects worth Rs 138 crore for Ayodhya have already been completed and soon new projects worth Rs 8568 crore will be launched, detailed project report of which is being prepared.

The CM added that work related with 54 projects of over Rs 3136 was going on at a rapid pace in Ayodhya.

The CM also offered prayer at makeshift Ram temple at Ram Janmabhoom­i and worshipped model of Ram Mandir.

Adityanath was in Ayodhya to launch PM free food grain distributi­on scheme which coincides with completion of one year of ‘bhumi pujan’ of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The CM handed over free food grain to 10 beneficiar­ies at the event organised at fair price shop at Vasudev ghat, Ayodhya. Around 400 BPL card holders received free food grain from this fair price shop.

Adityanath virtually joined PM Narendra Modi at the free food grain distributi­on event from Ayodhya.

Addressing the gathering after the event, the CM said: “Around 15 crore people in Uttar Pradesh will benefit from this scheme of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.”

A record over 3.42 crore beneficiar­ies of PM-GKAY were given 1.71 lakh metric tonnes of food grains through various fair price shops on Thursday, a government release claimed.

Commenting on developmen­t projects in Ayodhya, the CM said: “In Ayodhya, 17 projects of Rs 138 crore have already been completed. Soon, new projects of Rs 8568 crore for Ayodhya will be launched. The DPR of these projects has been completed.”

He also pointed out that 54 projects of over Rs 3136 were being rolled out at present in Ayodhya at rapid pace.

On constructi­on work of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the CM said: “PM Narendra Modi had performed bhumi pujan of Ram Mandir on August 5, 2020. For the past 500 years constructi­on work of Ram Mandir was due.”

“I worshipped Ram Lalla today and thereafter I also worshipped new model of Ram Mandir. I congratula­te everyone on this occasion (one year of bhumi pujan). Commenting on vaccinatio­n drive against Covid-19, the CM stated that 5.21 crore people have been vaccinated in the state.

He also pointed out that 6.67 crore people have been tested for Covid-19 across the state till date.

Foundation work of Ram Mandir is going on at Ram Janmabhoom­i. It is likely to be completed by the last week of September or first week of October and thereafter second phase of constructi­on work of temple will start in November.

In temple’s foundation, 44 layers of 300 mm each will be laid. Thereafter, each layer will be compressed with two kinds of rollers- simple roller and vibrating roller.

The foundation, which will be 107 feet above sea level, is being made of layers of stones. For filling the temple’s foundation, gitti (pebble) of Banda, coarse sand, fly ash and asbestos is being used.
